Nia Imani Patterson

Nia Imani is a clothing designer, seamstress, photographer, painter, teacher, and overall creative! As a Howard University alumnae, Nia has always shown academic excellence throughout her work; from shows in DC Fashion Week, to one-on-one sewing classes with students on campus, she has repeatedly showcased her creative and educational strengths in the fashion industry. She is a resident artist at Motorhouse Baltimore, where she works on garments for her clothing brand as well as custom sets and creative direction for photoshoots. With over 15 years of sewing, modeling, and art experience, she is truly a versatile visual artist.

Being the clothing designer/seamstress of her pedigree, Nia is capable of completing 2-5 collections per year for her clothing brand, Symphonique Fashion House, while simultaneously hosting sewing classes in the community for youth and adults. As a Western High School alumnae, it brings Nia the utmost joy to be teaching BCPS students, as she was one previously. Sewing classes and similar arts programs were not available when she was a student, so to see that happen now is major, and being a part of it is worthwhile.
