I am a Biology major working to get my medical degree in General Surgery. I've been in many places that discourage African American students from reaching their dreams and aim towards working after high school, or attending community college, being in an environment that makes you question your qualifications to achieve big dreams. Our community is greatly affected by impostor syndrome. The next generation should be allowed to be themselves and have their talents cultivated so they do not have to struggle with impostor syndrome. Building self-confidence and self-worth in their skin color will have a huge impact on the children's future. I strive to continue working towards my dream and helping other African American children believe in themselves and feel the beauty, strength, and power of being Black in these dire times. In my spare time, I like to read, binge-watch new shows, and spend time with my mom, sister, and kittens Luna & Lola.
