Don Comas

Teaching Artist - Theatre

A man of many talents, Don grew up in 8 states, 3 different countries, and somehow managed not to lose his socks along the way. By 12, he was already acting and honing his dramatic prowess (probably perfecting his “I didn’t do it” face). When he wasn’t on stage, Don was busy running the soccer field for the Junior Olympic team or swinging a bat in collegiate baseball—because why settle for one sport?

With a BFA and MFA in Fine Arts and Performative Collaboration (plus a minor in Human Psychology to understand why people clap), Don is not just your favorite actor's favorite actor—he’s also a director, photographer, and the mastermind behind Big Up the Sun Productions.

He served as Artistic Director for Between the Lines Production, Don knows how to bring a vision to life, whether it’s on stage, behind the camera, or in your headphones. And yes, he has an Ira Aldridge Acting Scholarship and an Adelco Award for Best Director for the Hit Off Broadway play, Platanos and Collard Greens. But don’t ask him to stay in one place too long—he’s probably off planning his next big project, --- with Moving History.
